Our Philosophy

At SP Soccer Performance, we believe player development is about more than drills — it’s about building complete athletes and confident individuals. Every session is designed with three pillars in mind: Reps, Intent, and Growth. Repetition builds consistency, intent ensures focus and purpose, and growth creates players who are prepared not only for the next game but for the challenges of life.

Our goal is to inspire a love for the process, not just the result, while helping players reach their full potential.

Meet Coach Santiago Peniche

Hi, I’m Santiago Peniche,
founder of SP Soccer Performance.

Soccer has been my life since growing up in Mexico, where I trained with a couple academies before moving to the U.S. to play college soccer. As a college team captain, I learned the value of leadership, discipline, and resilience — lessons I bring into every training session.

 

After my playing career, I transitioned into coaching and earned my USSF C License. Over the past 7+ years, I’ve coached at the community college and competitive club levels, working with players across all ages and abilities.

 

I coach because I want to give back to the game that gave me so much. My mission is to help players chase the dream I once had — whether that means striving for the next level, building confidence, or simply falling in love with the sport.

 

Today, I focus fully on SP Soccer Performance, where my mission is to help athletes sharpen their technical skills, develop physical strength, and grow the confidence they need to perform at their best — both on and off the field.

FAQ

Q: What ages do you train?

A: I work with players of all ages, from youth players just starting out to competitive high school and college athletes. Sessions are tailored to each player’s level and goals.

Q: Do you offer private and group sessions?

A: Yes. I provide one-on-one private training, small group sessions, and larger group classes. Group sessions are great for learning in a competitive environment, while private sessions allow for more focused individual development. See Pricing and Book Sessions here

Q: Where do sessions take place?

A: Most sessions are held in the El Dorado Hills/Folsom area. Location details are shared upon scheduling.

Q: What should I bring to a session?

A: Players should bring cleats, water, and a positive attitude ready to work.

Q: Can you help with college recruitment preparation?

A: Absolutely. I’ve coached at the college level and understand what recruiters look for. I can help athletes improve their game, prepare highlight film, and navigate the recruiting process.
